Fontaine Spins Gem for Memphis
|
The Memphis Mockingbirds used a great performance from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Guy Fontaine to beat the Seattle Rocketeers, 1-0, at Magnolia Park. Lawrence Wood earned his 7th save, after closing out the game. Memphis occupies 8th place in the Premier League at 29-37.
Fontaine, the Memphis right-hander, went 8 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits. He collected 6 strikeouts.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Memphis manager Beau Carsten. "That's what Guy is right now."
