The Nova Scotia Leviathan overcame a pretty good performance by Kingston shortstop Daniel Long, beating the Ponies, 8-3, at The Dungeon in Halifax. Long was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cisco Navarro picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-6. He struck out 7 in 8.1 innings. With the win, Nova Scotia pushed its record to 42-37.
Greg Hudson, who is tied for 5th in the 3L with a .405 on-base percentage, aided the Nova Scotia cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"We take it day by day here," said Hudson, "and today was a good one for us."
