Battery Take Tight Tilt
The Charleston Battery picked up a win at Charleston Armory, downing the D.C. Divided, 4-3. On the mound for Charleston was right-hander Pham Phung, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 8 innings, Phung surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Jim Milley earned the save for Charleston, his 3rd of the year.

Rich Lee cracked a home run off Les King in the bottom of the first. His 3-run blast put the Battery on top, 3-0. In all, Lee had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said D.C. skipper Jonathan Gerth, "and it cost us."

At 40-41, the Battery find themselves in 7th place in the Third League.
