The Boston Patriots beat the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 3-2. Boston pitcher and Bexley, Ohio, native Eric Buchanan led the way. The Patriots, now 6-1, have stormed out of the gates.

Boston used the clutch hitting of Vern Gordon to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Gordon.
