D.C. and Buckhead duked it out and the Divided came out victorious.

Divided designated hitter Samuel Lopez put his stamp on his team's 8-5 win over the Buckhead Bowties. Lopez was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times for D.C. in the contest. David Guzmán, credited with the save, is now 12 for 14 in save opportunities.

The Bowties had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Divided going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old catcher Claudio Sánchez came to the plate. Sánchez hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Buckhead hurler Edward Margaret. It was Sánchez's 14th home run of the year.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Lopez.

With the win, D.C. upped its record to 44-41.
