Battery Reel Off Another Win
The Charleston Battery beat the Panama City Piranhas, 7-4, at Charleston Armory. Charleston second baseman Chad Ware had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Juan Carlos Mejía closed it out for Charleston, earning his 20th save. The second-place Battery have won 6 straight.

Rich Lee had a big 3-run home run for the Battery in the bottom of the second inning. With Charleston leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Jack Faircloth, who is tied for 4th in the 3L in complete games with 2, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Battery on top, 5-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt.
