Lakers Get One-Run Win at Nova Scotia
The Echo Park Lakers cut down the Nova Scotia Leviathan by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Palmer Kent. Kent went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Lakers. Alberto Ramos, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings. Warner Alder collected save number 25.

Kent had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Manuel Peña, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Lakers a 6-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Kent.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Kent. "I just want to win ballgames."

The Lakers sit in third place in the Third League with a record of 48-37.
