Shredders Sunk by Rocketeers
Bruce Hawkins, who finished 5th in the PL in wins with 9 in 2059, never let the Shredders get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Rocketeers to a win, 5-1. Hawkins, the winner, moves to 5-4. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. The Rocketeers improved their record to 33-34 by beating Hollywood.

Luigi Mangione dealt the Shredders a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Seattle leading 2-1, Mangione, who is on pace for 68 RBI this season, hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Mangione said.
