The Oakland Oaks faced a tenacious opponent in Cape Coral pitcher Lawrence Higgins, but still scratched out a win at The Oak Grove by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Higgins went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The 'W' lifts Oakland's record to 39-48.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Oakland. That's when Bartolo Vásquez, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2059 draft, hit a run-scoring double off Fernando López to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Vásquez.
