With Late Score, Hurricanes Beat Battery

The Cape Coral Hurricanes and Charleston Battery obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The Cape Coral Hurricanes defeated the Charleston Battery, 7-6. Left Fielder Claude Thomas deserved a large share of the credit. Thomas went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 for the Hurricanes. The win went to Logan Bowen in relief, making him now 2-0. Tim Thompson took the loss for Charleston.
Don Clarke, the 8th overall pick in the 2060 draft, helped out the Cape Coral cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Hurricanes manager Greg Diersing. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
Cape Coral, at 41-47, sits in 8th place in the Third League.
