Long Island right fielder Donovan Phillips was sensational. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Thunder Bay beat the Lighthouse, 7-6. The win went to Steve Hale in relief, making him now 6-7. Victor Jones took the loss for Long Island. At 39-49, Thunder Bay is in 10th place in the Third League.

Had Frankie Mazeltov not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Mazeltov hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Northern Lions BC.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Mazeltov.
