Bowties Sunk by Grey Wolves
|
The inspired effort of Buckhead designated hitter Héctor Chávez was not enough to prevent a loss, 4-3, to the Vancouver Grey Wolves. Chávez went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Dionísio Zagallo picked up the win, lifting his record to 6-8 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 3 in 8.2 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Randall Larkin finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Yoon-tae Ch'ae to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ch'ae.
The second-place Grey Wolves are 54-35.
