The Montana Pandas had to overcome a good performance from Boston pitcher Martin Luther to claim a 3-2 win at Dunkin Donuts Park. Luther went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. The 7th-place Pandas improved to 33-34.
Montana used the clutch hitting of Jason Johnson to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Pandas ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
