Oakland Gets 2-1 Road Win
|
Oakland turned a fine outing from starter Scott Bishop into a victory over the Charleston Battery at Charleston Armory. The final score was 2-1. Oakland currently is in 4th place in the Third League at 48-42.
Ishaan Swan, who finished 2nd in the 3L in on-base percentage with .418 last year, took Charleston hurler Mike Moore deep in the top of the fifth. His solo home run put the Oaks on top, 2-1. In all, Swan had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
Swan said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
