Colorado Loses, 6-4, Despite Costa Performance
|
Colorado got a terrific game from right fielder Jorge Costa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Buckhead, 6-4. Costa slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Buckhead reliever Kenny McFadden picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Bryce Poindexter absorbed the loss. With the win, Buckhead pushed its record to 46-45.
Had Héctor Chávez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Chávez hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Bowties.
Chávez called the triumph "a good team win."
