Lakers Come Up Short at Thunder Bay, 2-1
Edward Brown never let Echo Park get something going. The Thunder Bay right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Northern Lions BC to a 2-1 win. José Cruz got credit for the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Mike Allen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.

Celestino Canova, who is tied for 7th in the 3L in bases on balls with 39, aided the Thunder Bay cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 3 with a triple.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Canova.

The win elevated the Northern Lions BC to 47-44.
