Dirty Reds Stumble, Lose to Oaks
|
The Oakland Oaks beat the Dayton Dirty Reds, 9-3, at Lang Park. Ai-de Lau, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Earning his 1st save of the year was Tom Pegum. The Oaks lead the Third League by 6 games.
Ostoja Popovic, who is tied for 2nd in the 3L in total bases with 182, took Dayton hurler Chip Sizemore deep in the top of the fifth. His 3-run home run put the Oaks on top, 4-3. In all, Popovic had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
