The 3-hit performance of Lang Ouyang, who is tied for 2nd in the 3L with a .344 batting average, helped the Charleston Battery beat the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 7-2. The winner was Rush Moore, who threw 107 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. The loss makes Nova Scotia 46-47.
The Battery got a lift from right fielder Rich Lee, who in the bottom of the fifth stroked a 1-0 splitter to center for a run-scoring single. It was his 96th hit of the season and put the Battery ahead, 2-0.
"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Tyler Studebaker. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
