Billy Goats Claim 5-2 Triumph

The Colorado Billy Goats locked up a win at The Oak Grove, knocking off the Oakland Oaks, 5-2. On the mound for Colorado was right-hander Sloppy Thurston. He played a major role in the triumph. Carlos Rosado finished the game for Colorado and earned his 26th save. The victory gives Colorado a record of 64-29.
Eichiro Kaneko dealt the Oaks a blow in the top of the first. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Colorado leading 1-0, Kaneko, who is tied for 9th in the 3L in runs scored with 53, hit a 1-1 knuckle curve for a 2-run double.
"It was a good effort all around," said Kaneko.
