Ponies Win at Cape Coral, 4-3
|
The Kingston Ponies knocked off the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 4-3, in Menard's Third League action at Factory of Sadness. Kingston pitcher and Willemstad, Curaçao, native Sam van Elswijk had an outstanding performance. The Ponies sport a record of 37-57.
Phil Tillman dealt the Hurricanes a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Kingston leading 3-2, Tillman hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Enjoyed this one," van Elswijk told the Kingston Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
