Bowties Come Up Short at St. Louis, 4-3
|
The St. Louis Coeur picked up a win at The BFIB, downing the Buckhead Bowties, 4-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Dan Hewitt, who played a pivotal role in the win. Dave Farmer sewed up the save, his 3rd. St. Louis, at 63-32, is 3½ games up in the Third League.
Early in the game, center fielder Mal Parker had a 3-run home run for St. Louis. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Coeur on top, 3-0.
After the game, St. Louis manager Scott McMahon applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
