Pittsburgh Drops Kingston, 6-2
|
Behind an impressive start by Jacob Cox, Pittsburgh beat Kingston, 6-2. Cox picked up the win for Pittsburgh, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 9-5. The Ponies, now 31-66, have lost 4 in a row.
Pittsburgh used a clutch at-bat from Oasiz Wiesblatt to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson.
