Kingfishers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Nova Scotia, 5-1
|
Pittsburgh Kingfishers starter Ernie Gibson turned in an exceptional performance against the Nova Scotia Leviathan at The Dungeon in Halifax, resulting in a Pittsburgh win, 5-1. Pittsburgh is now 47-52, while Nova Scotia is 44-55.
Pittsburgh used the bat of Oasiz Wiesblatt to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Nova Scotia manager Tyler Studebaker.
