The Boston Patriots topped the Long Island Lighthouse, 7-5, in United States Premier League action at Dunkin Donuts Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston pitcher Eric Buchanan. The Patriots, now 5-2, have been playing some good baseball.

Vern Gordon aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 2 with a walk.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Gordon. "You've got to get results."
