The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC picked up a win at 5 Paces Park, downing the Buckhead Bowties, 6-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Thunder Bay was left-hander Hansel McDonald, who played a pivotal role in the win. Steve Hale, 8-5, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. The Northern Lions BC improved their record to 51-49 with the win over Buckhead.
Kenny Simpson hit a 2-run triple off Dave Phelps in the top of the second, which put the Northern Lions BC in front, 2-1. Simpson had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 6.
