The Panama City Piranhas knocked off the Charleston Battery, 6-5, at The Tank. Fred Kalkman was a big reason Panama City won. The designated hitter went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The setback makes Charleston 64-36.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Panama City pinch hitter Paul Young, facing Juan Carlos Mejía, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Piranhas the 6-5 win.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Kalkman. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
