The Nova Scotia Leviathan picked up a win at The Dungeon in Halifax, downing the D.C. Divided, 3-2. On the mound for Nova Scotia was left-hander Tony Powell, who played a pivotal role in the win. The victory puts Nova Scotia at 35-66.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Nova Scotia. That's when Ultse Burgemeester, who finished 3rd in the 3L in doubles with 30 in 2059, hit a run-scoring double off David Guzmán to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Powell told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
