The Charleston Battery picked up a win at 5 Paces Park, topping the Buckhead Bowties, 5-3. On the mound for Charleston was right-hander Pham Phung. He played a principal role in the triumph. Juan Carlos Mejía wrapped it up, recording his 26th save. The losses continue to mount for Buckhead, which has now dropped 12 in a row.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chad Ware? The 24-year old second baseman Ware stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Charleston up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

Ware said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
