Alog Slugs Grey Wolves to 9-1 Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves topped the Buckhead Bowties by a score of 9-1. Leading the way was third baseman Efren Alog. Alog belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Grey Wolves. Dionísio Zagallo got the win, improving to 7-8. He held the Bowties to 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 13 and walking 1. The Grey Wolves have an impressive 66-37 record.
With Vancouver leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Alog hit a cutter from Uhi Ahipene for a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Grey Wolves ahead, 5-1.
Said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister: "They just got the better of us."
