Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Gerben Pauw, who finished 5th in the 3L in OPS with .927 last year, the Oakland Oaks defeated the Kingston Ponies, 3-2. At 47-57, Oakland is in 9th place in the Third League.
Pauw had a timely hit for Oakland in the bottom of the seventh. With Oakland trailing 1-0, he turned a full count sinker into a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 2-1, Oakland.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Pauw.
