Bowties Suffer 4-2 Road Loss
|
The Dayton Dirty Reds got a stellar performance from pitcher Daryl Crawford, who handcuffed the Buckhead offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Lang Park. Crawford, now 10-4, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Mike Carney earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
Had Ed Mooney not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Mooney hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Dirty Reds.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Mooney told the Dayton Herald.
With the win, Dayton pushed its record to 66-38.
