Charleston right fielder Rich Lee was sensational. He was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Cape Coral beat the Battery, 6-5. Cape Coral pitcher Janghyun Han got the win. He's now 8-9. Immeghar Cherono was tagged with the loss. Mark Smith notched his 18th save in 23 chances.

Salmon P. Chase, the Cape Coral center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to make the score 6-3, Hurricanes. For the game, Chase went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Cape Coral manager Greg Diersing was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

The Hurricanes improved their record to 49-56 with the win over Charleston.
