Bowties Lose to Hurricanes, 8-3
|
Gustavo López left his imprint on the 8-3 Cape Coral win against the Buckhead Bowties. López, who is tied for 7th in the 3L with a .316 batting average, went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. The winning pitcher was Chris Lee. His record now stands at 11-6. The left-hander went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Hurricanes. Thad Willis got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.
Don Clarke, the 8th overall pick in the 2060 draft, helped out the Cape Coral cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Hurricanes manager Greg Diersing.
The Hurricanes go to 52-54, putting them 6th in the Third League.
