Leviathan Prevail, 3-2, Over Charleston
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan topped the Charleston Battery, 3-2, in Menard's Third League action at The Dungeon in Halifax. The standout performance belonged to Nova Scotia pitcher and Birmingham, Michigan, native Anastasio Orozco. The 7th-place Leviathan bumped their record to 51-56.
The Battery had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Leviathan going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Melchor Palangan came to the plate. Palangan hit a 3-run home run on a 2-0 curveball from Charleston hurler Pham Phung. It was Palangan's 2nd home run of the year.
"We found a way to get it done," Palangan said.
