Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC starter Robert Cote pitched a strong game against the Kingston Ponies at Megaffin Park, leading the Northern Lions BC to victory, 8-2. The 4th-place Northern Lions BC have won 4 in a row.

The Ponies had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Northern Lions BC going into the top of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Junior Hurtado came to the plate. Hurtado hit a 2-run double on a 1-2 changeup from Kingston hurler Fred Boman. It was Hurtado's 20th double of the year.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Hurtado.
