Ponies Lose to Northern Lions BC in Walk-Off
|
Thunder Bay third baseman Tyler Harris helped his team beat the Kingston Ponies, 7-6. Harris, who finished 5th in the 3L in runs with 64 in 2058, went 2 for 4 for the Northern Lions BC. Francisco Colón notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-3. The Northern Lions BC sit in 6th place in the Third League with a record of 53-54.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Thunder Bay. That's when Ta-hye Keng hit a bases-clearing double off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Fred Hull to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams.
