The St. Louis Coeur picked up a win at Washington Stadium, dropping the D.C. Divided, 3-1. Dan Hewitt, who is tied for 8th in the 3L in strikeouts with 119, was the difference-maker. George Law was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. The third-place Divided dropped to 60-48.

St. Louis won the game in part because of Wayne Summers. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Coeur ahead, 2-0. For the game, Summers had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
