Losing Streak Continues for Fur Traders with 9-2 Loss to Loons
|
The Minnesota Loons outclassed the Tacoma Fur Traders, 9-2, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Simon Tapley, who is tied for 8th in the 3AA with a .346 batting average, was a major contributor for Minnesota. Tapley went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Richard Albright closed out the game, earning his 1st save. Tacoma, now 2-13, has gotten off to a terrible start.
Brent Pelaez helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Loons.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Jeff Rutherford, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
