Minnesota Loons starter Jeff Benson turned in an exceptional performance against the Pine Island Dolphins at Loony Bin, resulting in a Minnesota win, 4-2. Luis Tobías was credited with the save for Minnesota, his 6th of the season. The loss has the Dolphins at 8-8.

Minnesota center fielder José Vázquez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Loons ahead, 3-0.
