Fat Cats Run Win Streak to 7

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Ottawa Fat Cats got the win.
The Yakima Hops got a sterling performance from pitcher Nelson Otero, but the Ottawa Fat Cats still prevailed, 3-2. Otero threw 7.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Bill Underwood picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Nelson Otero was tagged with the loss.
Ron Mitchell, who is tied for 8th in the 3AA in home runs with 3, had a direct impact on the outcome. Mitchell contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Ottawa up, 3-0.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza.
The win lifts Ottawa to a record of 9-7.
