The Virginia Beach Whales defeated the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 4-1, in M3L Double A action at Virginia Beach Grounds. Virginia Beach pitcher Manuel Delgado had a standout performance. The defeat makes Gwinnett 8-8.

Virginia Beach took a 3-1 lead on Esteban Reyes's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Reyes hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Gwinnett pitcher Sloppy Thurston visibly frustrated.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Reyes. "You've got to get results."
