Both teams had their chances, but the Boston Patriots eventually prevailed.

Boston Patriots starter Jim Everhart turned in a top-notch performance against the Seattle Rocketeers at Dunkin Donuts Park. The result was a win for the Patriots, 2-1. The winner was Everhart. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was John Baker.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Patriots had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman Andrés López hit a run-scoring single. The single came off John Baker and made the score 2-1, Patriots. "I just tried to make good contact," said López.

The win elevated the Patriots to 40-30.
