Maron has 3 hits to Power Hops Offense

Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Marc Maron, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AA in doubles with 6, the Yakima Hops defeated the Ottawa Fat Cats, 5-2. Yakima pitcher Frank McConnell got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Nick Lyons got the loss. Manny Cruz picked up the save for Yakima, his 3rd of the year.
Maron contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Yakima in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Maron took a fastball from Nick Lyons and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Hops to leap in front, 2-1.
"Marc is still learning," said Hops manager Giddy Potts. "The sky's the limit for him."
The win brings the Hops to 6-11, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
