Starting pitcher Mannus Klapwijk gave the Northville Eclipse a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Virginia Beach Whales, 2-1, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Robert Poynter earned the save for Northville, his 3rd. To call the performance of the 2062 Whales disappointing is an understatement.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Mark Turner came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Virginia Beach pitcher Cristovão Mineiro, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Northville on top, 2-1.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Turner.
