Dolphins Need Extra Innings to Top Cangrejos Fantasmas, 4-2
|
Pine Island turned a fine outing from starter Yi-da Gui into a victory over the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas at Ghost Crab Park. The final score was 4-2 in 10 innings. Andre Maccley notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Fridon Zaminian earned the save, his 2nd.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Ken Robinson came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Chesapeake pitcher Carlos Hana, he hit a 0-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Pine Island on top, 3-2.
After the game, Pine Island manager Alfonso Dolton applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
With the loss, Chesapeake falls to 11-7.
