Rails Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
The Richland Rails beat the Ottawa Fat Cats, 4-3, in 11 innings at Nationals Park. Richland designated hitter Shawn Parker had an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Richland reliever Martino Salazar was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-2. William Elliott took the loss for Ottawa. The win puts Richland at 12-8.

Richland used a timely hit from Pete Hines to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rails ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza.
