4-3 Loss Extends Westwood Skid

The Westwood Sixshooters and Virginia Beach Whales provided some drama for the home crowd.
Virginia Beach beat Westwood at Sixshooters Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Bob Gilmore. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Andy Lewis nailed down the save.
Virginia Beach took a 4-2 lead on Gilmore's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Bryan Hall in the top of the eighth, propelled Virginia Beach to the win.
Virginia Beach manager Wilson López was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
The win moves Virginia Beach to a record of 9-11.
