The home crowd had a good time watching the Richland Rails and Virginia Beach Whales get after it.

The Virginia Beach Whales used an offensive barrage to beat the Richland Rails, 10-2, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Esteban Reyes led the way, going 3-for-5 for Virginia Beach. The Rails are now 6-14.

Virginia Beach designated hitter John Robinson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Whales ahead, 4-1.

"The Whales definitely had our number," said Richland manager Eduardo Hernández.
