Barton Springs and Casper got after it at Blues Field.
Pancho Conaso left his imprint on the 5-3 Barton Springs win against the Casper Ghosts. Conaso, who is tied for 6th in the 3AA with a .981 OPS, was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2. Barton Springs pitcher Rodney Curry earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Mike Moore suffered the loss.
Tied up with the Ghosts in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Blues got a boost from first baseman Weston Hensball. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Hensball saw a 1-1 knuckle curve from Mike Moore and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Barton Springs on top, 4-3.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Barton Springs manager Francisco Pelaez.
The Blues, now 15-6, have won 4 in a row.
