Saboteurs Turn Back Northville, 3-2
|
Norberto González, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AA with a 9.8 K/9 rate, pitched well, but the Northville Eclipse still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Toledo Saboteurs at Old-Timers Park. Dan Caine was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Clemens Schlöndorff closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
Toledo relied on the bat of Larry Davis to get the win. The first baseman produced a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Saboteurs ahead, 3-2. For the game, Davis had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
Northville manager Daniel Katz said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
