Ft. Worth Drops Another One, 3-1
|
The St. Louis Coeur topped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 3-1, in United States Premier League action at The Cattle Pen. The standout performance belonged to St. Louis pitcher and Villahermosa, Mexico, native Cisco Hernández. In 7 innings, Hernández surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Joey Greco earned the save for St. Louis, his 1st.
Joe Saunders had a direct impact on the outcome. Saunders contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put St. Louis up, 3-0.
"Cisco executed his pitches at a high level," said St. Louis manager Scott McMahon.
The Coeur, now 5-2, have been playing some good baseball.
