The Yakima Hops topped the Casper Ghosts, 9-7, with designated hitter Brian Kurucz playing a big role. Kurucz went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Hops in the win. Yakima pitcher Vaughn Collier earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Francisco Cortés suffered the loss. Casper has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Yakima used the timely hitting of Thom Guerra to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hops on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
